In the late 1800s, Federal Way began as a logging settlement and rapidly grew into a popular suburb of both Seattle and Tacoma. Of the 83,000 people living in this city about 25% of them are employed within the city limits and the rest commute to other areas north and south. Federal Way is home to Weyerhaeuser Executives and Boeing Engineers in the 1960s and more recently home to World Vision and a huge Korean-American community. Local attractions are Wild Waves, Dashpoint State Park, the Rhododendron Species Botanical Gardens, Dumas Bay Center, Pattison’s West, Redondo Beach, and Celebration Park Sports Complex.
