A large city in King County with over 115,000 residents. The ShoWare Center opened in Kent in 2009 and hosts many productions as well as the Hocky Team, The Seattle Thunderbirds. Also the Kent Station revitalized the area with new shopping and entertainment center. In the 1980s the city had a reputation for being in the “country”, but this soon changed when more and more builders started picking up land during the new construction boom in early 2000. Now, Kent looks to be a culturally rich suburb of Seattle covering 3 distinct areas: The West Hill, the Valley and the East Hill. Some areas of interest to discover include Lake Meridian, Riverbend Golf Course, the Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum, The Green River Trail and Natural Resource Area.
