Northeast Tacoma feels more like Federal Way, and many residents will tell you they live in Federal Way. This part of Tacoma is relatively quiet because it is far from the freeways and major through roads. Nothing really passes through Northeast Tacoma, it is somewhat of a peninsula. Some of the popular attractions in Northeast Tacoma are Dash Point Park, Browns Point Lighthouse Park, the Center at Norpoint and views from the Cliff House. Northeast Tacoma also butts up against Dash Point State Park, which is just inside King County. Most residents shop in south Federal Way, at the major intersection of 336th & 21st Ave SW, or even further at the 348th & Enchanted Parkway shops. Residents primarily commute north toward Seattle but it is a good location if you work in the Port or the downtown Tacoma area. Homes in Northeast Tacoma are higher price points than the rest of Tacoma, other than maybe North Tacoma. The houses are larger as well, usually being above 1,400 square feet. Many have views of the water and roughly eighty percent of the homes are rented.
